Yesterday's server update went pretty well. The site was down from 7:45am to 2:10pm (more or less), about an hour longer than we anticipated. The main reason we moved servers was because some key software was out of date and no longer supported, and updated it in place was not an option. Server security is now up to date, and our site better protected. Staff and users noticed a few images didn't make their way over, those images have been restored. Most users haven't noticed much difference after the update, other than the box that now appears around your avatar. That box has been useful for easily seeing if we're on the new server or old. Some users are noticing the new server is faster for them, while a few people find it's slower. Our usual advice still applies: if your network speed seems unusually slow try using a VPN if you can and see if it makes a difference. Firefox has a free VPN built in which makes it easy to check. Thanks for your patience during the update, and for your ongoing support of Wajas.
