We'll be updating a few things behind the scenes starting at 5am today (January 1). The goal is to speed up the site, an ongoing project we've been doing one bit at a time. UPDATE: Our first set of updates is complete, a number of frequently used database tables have been converted to a faster internal format. One change you'll probably notice is that we've cleaned up the massive notifications table and archived notifications over 90 days old. This brought the number of active notifications from 16,000,000 down to a much more manageable 250,000. Notifications are being added constantly, and referenced by users frequently, so this one change should help speed up the site immediately. It's not the whole picture, of course, but lots of small improvements will result in a progressively faster site. Thanks so much for your patience and understanding! -- Code
