Where does your username come from?
Surprisingly, not from any obsession I…may or may not…have with a certain Star Wars character.  For as long as I’ve been on Wajas, I’ve always associated myself and my account with a face-character.  Not in any roleplaying capacity, but just to have a face to slap on my forum tag.  I’ve done a few swaps of identity and face-characters over the years.  Grand Admiral just happens to be the name of my current (and most likely permanent at this point) face-character.  Or title, to be more accurate (that weird dino-dragon thing’s name is actually Garial).  *pretend I inserted a complex sci-fi origin story here*

In all honesty, I didn’t anticipate players to start calling me Admiral at all.  I was under the mistaken belief at the time of my identity swap that players would just remember my old name (how?  I’m still trying to figure that out.)  But Admiral started to stick, particularly when I became a forum mod, so…here we are today.  I’m so used to it now that Admiral is my nickname for almost everything I do online these days.  Though I do sometimes wonder at changing my Wajas identity someday...hm…nah.  Admiral I am, and Admiral I will stay.

What are you passionate about on Wajas?
Hands down, that’s organizing my cave, even if the only thing taken into account is the massive amount of time I’ve spent doing it over the years.  Adding on, taking out, rearranging, aaaaaallll the subgrouping.  A player recently told me that they consider my cave a “beautiful nightmare”.  ‘Tis the highest compliment I’ve ever gotten.

What do you collect? (On Wajas, irl, or both!)?
I recall a time in the past when I was bound and determined to have more walking canes in my inventory than anyone else on site.  Do I know what I was thinking?  No, no I do not.  Of all the items on the site, what was with my obsession with walking canes?  I don’t even remember how many I had before my attention shifted to something else, and I forgot all about it.

Nowadays, I have a far more understandable desire for low-ID wajas, Crayon Egg Bills, and Mason the Horses.  Perfectly normal things.

I don’t collect anything IRL to any great degree.

Share one of your fondest memories related to Wajas.
Ah, that would be the day I posted a simple, innocent thread in the forums stating that I was hungry.  And that innocent comment led to the legendary Mustard VS Ketchup war.  It’s a shame the thread is lost to time now.  But at least we have Murphy the Mustard Dragon and Kerry the Ketchup Dragon to keep the memory alive.

Where are you from?
Cheyenne, Wyoming.  And if I ever got the opportunity to return, I’d do so in a heartbeat.

What are your hobbies or passions outside of Wajas?
I’d have to say it’s writing, for the same definition of passion on Wajas.  It’s what I spend most of my free time doing.  I started a project during the doldrums of the lockdowns that I am *bound* and *determined* to finish.  To the point where I am refusing to take up any other hobbies to any great degree until this darn thing is finished.  So given my current rate of progress, if you ask me this question again in about…fifteen years…I might have a different answer.

What game(s) are you currently playing?
See above for the reason I’m not currently playing any videogames with the amount of focus I used to.  Every now and then I dabble for an hour or two.  Terraria, Subnautica, Skyrim.  And occasionally I get the gumption to put another few hours into my playthrough of Mass Effect Legendary edition, but my progress there is at a similar pace as above answer.  The only game I can say that I actually PLAY on a daily basis is a mobile game, and that is MouseHunt.  But since that’s a passive clicker, I don’t think it really counts.

What's your favorite place you've traveled to or have visited locally?
That would be the many caverns that are available for touring in the region.  My father and I have made it sort of a father-daughter thing to take a day once or twice a year and go on a cavern tour.  Not because either of us have any particular interest in caverns, but because it’s a nice quiet thing the two of us passively enjoy.  One time, by luck, he and I were the only ones on the tour, and all the little extra things the guide was able to show us because of it was something special.

What pets do you have/what would your dream pet be?
Currently, I possess one pet gremlin, one pet poof, one pet squawking featherduster, four pet boop-noodles, and four pet can-save-you-money-on-your-car-insurance.  There are other animals in the household that I help take care of, but they’re technically not MY pets.

My dream pet would be koi in my own koi pond.  Or a large lizard like a monitor or a tegu.
What are some things on your bucket list?
On Wajas, this thing:
[item id="175"]

IRL, a VIP trip to Universal Studios to see Halloween Horror Nights.

Cold weather or warm weather?
Cold weather, but with a caveat.  This winter there have been some nasty cold spells, and I just didn’t like those spells, thank you very much.  Even bundled up they were a pain to deal with.  So count me on the side of Team Kinda-Cold Weather.  In the range of comfortably pleasant to moderately cold (the kind of cold you can feel but makes a nice fluffy jacket so comfy).  Anything more or less than that, and the Admiral gets cranky.

Where does your username come from?
Oh gosh, it's been so long, I'm not actually sure anymore. My username was originally a sort of blend of not-very-good Latin and eventually, I just shortened it to Nixie. I think it's vaguely mythological?

What are you passionate about on Wajas?
I LOVE designing wajas. I'm happiest when I have a design that I'm tinkering with either for myself or for someone else. I go through times when I also really love breeding fades and sometimes I think about how nice it would be to organize my cave.

What do you collect? (On Wajas, irl, or both!)?
On Wajas, mostly Gen2s that catch my eye, but I'm also - very slowly - trying to collect all the diamond trophies.
In Real Life, mostly books, feathers, and plants. I like to use feathers as bookmarks. And I'm trying to become one of those plant people with relatively limited success.

Share one of your fondest memories related to Wajas.
Some of my fondest memories are RPs that I've been a part of on the forums back in the day. It was such a great way to get to know other players and it's always so satisfying to create a story with others.

Where are you from?
All over the USA. I've moved around quite a bit in my life. Right now, I'm in western North Carolina and (hopefully) planning to never leave.

What are your hobbies or passions outside of Wajas?
I love writing (both poetry and fiction and sometimes nonfiction too). I've recently gotten into jewelry making - which is not something I ever saw myself doing, but I've really come to enjoy playing with wire and beads. Spending time outside is really important to me - so I also love walking in the woods and stargazing!

What game(s) are you currently playing?
I'm not much into games... unless you're talking board games. I love Scrabble and Settlers of Catan.

What's your favorite place you've traveled to or have visited locally?
I went to Ireland with my family when I was a very young child and, even though I haven't been able to go back as an adult, I think it might be one of my favorite places. I love the idea of the landscape and wildness and the culture.

What pets do you have/what would your dream pet be?
I have a golden retriever named Milton. He's my hiking buddy a lot of the time. His skill set is mostly in defluffing his stuffed animals and barking at the door when there's no one there.
What are some things on your bucket list?
There are some hikes abroad that I really want to do when I can find the time, but I also just want to go and explore the rest of the country and the world. Seeing the Northern Lights and learning to forage are also definitely on my list.

Cold weather or warm weather?
Warm weather, please! But I might be a bit bias since it's the wend of winter and I am so ready for spring. I want to be able to go for walks barefoot again.
