Please read this in full before partaking in the feature.

Goblin Gift Exchange
Hello, hello! Some of you may know what the Goblin Gift Exchange is, and others may not. Basically, this is Wajas version of a "White Elephant Feature". You submit up to ten items, and you will receive the same number of items you submitted back.

Last year was chaos, so over the last month and a half, Code has been working tirelessly to try and revamp it and do better. That said, while we did make a bunch of changes, we want to issue a few disclaimers:
  • This feature is a bit of a gamble, just as the lottery is. You may get something of higher value than what you submitted, or you may get something of lower value. That's just how this feature operates. Thus, in the event you are unhappy with what you receive, we will not refund you. If you are not okay with a potential loss, we recommend you not partaking in this event.

Changes made:
  • Pricing Changes made: We've changed how the items determine their pricing, they start at the top of this list and work their way down until they find a price.
    • crafts are priced at 2 CWP
    • user owned doodlecorns are priced at 2 CWP
    • in-stock core site shop price (world_shop.php?id=...)
    • emporium price (even if item is OOS)
    • CWP Shop price
    • Leaf Exchange price
    • lowest user shop WC price
    • lowest user shop CWP price
    • junk items are priced at 150 junk per CWP
    • if we still don't have a price we use the price it last sold for in user shops
    • if there is still no price, it will be marked as TBD and staff will manually input a price for it to the best of their ability.
    • Prices are subject to change from what you see. Pricing will be determined based on the cost when we run the exchange.
  • Certain shops do not utilize CWP or WC, and for that purpose, we implimented the following conversion rates:
    • 1 CWP = 4.3 million WC = Items with only a CWP price
    • 1 Leaf Point = 40,000 WC = Leaf Exchange Shop
    • 1 RKP = 29,000 WC = Raccoon King Shop
  • You can now remove your submitted items up until EOD on the 24th.
  • We have added a "Generous Gifter" option, which means that you do not care what item you get / what the value of the items is, you're okay with your item going to anyone who submitted an item under the value of what your item is valued at. Only items valued at 5 CWP or more will unlock this Generous Gifter option. When you get your gifts back, you will be able to see what was given in return for your Generous Gift. If your item falls below 5 CWP before we distribute the items, it will be treated like a normal item and not a generous gift.
  • We removed the tier system that was previously used and instead we're aiming to keep the loss/gain at a 20% value of the item you submitted.

How it works, notes, and important knowledge:

December 20th - 24th (EOD), Submit your items
  • Visit the Goblin Gift Exchange page and you will see the following menu:
This is different than past years in that we now display the current value (to the best of the site's ability to pull one) of the item you are hovering on.

Additionally, you are now given the option to be a "Generous Gifter".  Generous gifting gets rid of the "safety measures" we have in place to ensure your gifted something valued similar to your item.  It means that anyone who has donated an item valued lower than the item you are donating has a chance to receive your item.  Likewise, you will likely receive an item that is worth significantly less than what you donated, by selecting "Generous Gifter" you agree to being okay with that.
    • You may select up to ten items to donate. However, please keep the following in mind:
    • If you donate x10 roots, that counts as all ten of your items donated.
    • If you donate multiples of an item, the odds of you getting multiple of one item back increases.
    • You can add and remove at any point up until the end of day on the 24th. After that you will no longer be able to change things and staff will not be able to change things, please make sure you are happy with your submission before the end of day on the 24th.
  • Submissions will no longer be accepted after the 24th. The page will be available, but that's only to allow you to see what you got in return.

We will not be running the script to redistribute the items on the 25th. In order to provide the best results for you that we can, we want all hands on deck no holiday distractions, so we will not be finishing this up until we're done with family things. Hopefully sometime late next week / early the following week.

Unknown Dates, Items redistributed:
  • Come next year we will have static dates for this hopefully, but in an effort to ensure the event goes off smoothly, we're going to take time to ensure that our changes we have made to the feature are playing out in a more purposeful manner. While there may still be things to change that we may not catch until we fully distribute to the users, we're hoping with us taking our time and ensuring everything is running smoothly, things will play out better for you all.
  • During this time, we will ensure that all items have a price, and we may do a few behind the scenes things to test our changes before officially redistributing the items.
  • Once we're content with how things are running, we will run the script to distribute out the items and you will get back a new item for each item donated. Our goal is to keep the loss/gain within 20% of the item you donated, thus, if there is no item to give you in that percentage, you may get back your original item. Keep this note in mind for items valued at high values.
