Chapter Ten

Previous Chapter There was a scream, it shattered the silence that he'd grown accustomed to. He winced as the scream seemed to echo in the emptiness. With a sigh, he turned, slowly making his way towards the sound. Since arriving he'd seen all manner of oddities. Which meant that someone was playing with forces they shouldn't be. It didn't take long before he'd found himself watching quite a humorous scene. Rabbit riding pestering demons surrounding a familiar looking pup - who mind you, was still screaming...a low chuckle passed between his jowls. He gave it a moment before a gruff voice rose above the screams. "You know, the more you scream, the more they will pester you. It's literally in their name "PESTERING DEMONS, and frankly, you're giving me a headache. So might you consider stopping?" Remus' felt his heart thundering, the urge to run grew as the voice spoke. A voice he didn't recognize, from the shadows...who was it? However, they seemed to know what these things were...and so, he clamped down on the screams, forcing them into the abyss that was where he kept all of his fears. The chattering picked up, and the beasts turned, clearly annoyed with the interference. One by one they urged their rabbits forward. "Aww, isn't that quite cute? Do you think you can bother me?" A tentacle appeared from the foliage, snapping the ground before the critters, and that alone caused the demons to squeal and turn their rabbits, fleeing the scene. "See, if you act brave, the annoyances run away. They are cowardly creatures who do not actually desire a fight, they just want a reaction. Might I inquire why you thought it a good idea to summon them though?" Remus stumbled back at the sight of a tentacle. None of the other Wajas that had shops had tentacles! In fact, he'd only seen one with a tentacle recently...and...and... "Are you going to scream again? I'd really rather you not. As I said, it makes my head ache." He sighed, and sat in his spot. "I just want an answer." The silence stretched for eternity before Remus stammered. "W-who are you?" No answer, just a question. Oh no, Remus has stumbled upon someone new, someone potentially dangerous! Tune in for the next chapter to find out what happens!
